Answers to Some Questions You Might Have
We know visiting a new church can feel a little intimidating, especially when you’re not sure what to expect. We want you to feel right at home at Calvary Bible Baptist Church! Here are a few answers to some common questions to help you feel more comfortable before you visit.
What Should I wear to a church service?
You’ll see a little bit of everything at Calvary! Some folks enjoy dressing up in their Sunday best, others come in business casual, and some are perfectly comfortable in jeans and a flannel. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable joining us! We’re glad to have you, and we’d love for you to come just as you are.
Are there any Kids Programs?
Absolutely! We love having kids at Calvary! We offer several opportunities for children and teens to learn about God, grow in their faith, and build friendships.
- Sunday School — Sundays at 9:30 AM
- Children’s Church — Sundays at 10:30 AM
- E.D.G.E. Youth Program — Thursdays at 7:00 PM
Our children’s and youth classes are available for ages 4 and up, and we also have a nursery for babies and children under 4 years old. We’d love for your whole family to join us!
How Long is a Church Service?
We know your time is valuable, so we try to keep our services around one hour. Sunday School classes typically last about 45 minutes. We want you to have a meaningful time worshipping the Lord and learning from His Word.
Where should I park, and where do I go?
Finding us is easy! Our paved parking lot is accessible from Kendal Street SW, just off Perry Drive. You should be able to spot it easily as you come down Perry Drive.
Once you park, look for our main entrance facing Kendal Street, near the handicap-accessible parking spaces. You’ll enter our main foyer, which leads directly into the sanctuary. If you’re not sure where to go, don’t worry! We’re happy to help you find your way.
What Happens During a Church Service?
Our services are simple, welcoming, and centered on the Lord and His Word. We’ll spend time praying together, singing hymns and praises to the Lord, and sharing a few announcements about what’s happening at the church.
Then our pastor will bring a Bible message, usually around 30 minutes, to help us understand God’s Word and apply it to our lives. We close with prayer and a time to reflect on the message.
You don’t need to know what to do or have everything figured out before you come. Just come and join us! We’d love to meet you.

Music
We have a variety of ways to enjoy music here. It is one of the ways that those who attend are able to participate in worshipping and praising God together. Our music is traditional, a mix of hymns and spiritual songs.
Prayer
Time in prayer with the Father is so important to our relationship with Him and our Christian Walk. We love to spend time talking with the Heavenly Father.
Sermons
All of our messages are Bible focused and primarily expository in nature. God speaks to us through His Word and that is what our messages focus on. You will also notice that we preach the Gospel all the time.
Fellowship
You will find people that love people here. This will help you and your family feel loved and welcomed here. You will find your time here to be both exhorting and encouraging, and that you have a place here.
Children
We have childcare for infants to age 3, and classes for children ages 4 to 12, and “Edge” Youth Ministry on Thursday evenings. We are excited when families worship at church together and those opportunities are provided here.
